Bidding Opens: Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10 AM Bidding Closes: Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 2 PM Design & Model: Vintage "Queen Victoria" dollhouse (Model 2-MH20), designed by architect Robert Lunde and produced by Magnuson Models during the 1970s–1980s. This collectible, 1:12 scale masterpiece is highly sought-after. The dollhouse kit originally sold for $325 in 1978 (unassembled).Vintage "Queen Victoria" Brick Two Story Dollhouse by Magnuson Models. Patent: Patent USD247984S granted on May 23, 1978. Designer: Robert Lunde is highly regarded in the model railroading industry, best known as the designer and craftsman behind Lunde Studios. Lunde built a reputation as the founder of Magnuson Models and Design Preservation Models. In the late 70’s, Bob and his wife Lynn were pioneers in the model railroad structure industry, developing the first successful line of resin-cast structures. Lunde is well known for extraordinary realism and intricate details like brickwork, stone textures, and cornice designs.
Interior Layout: The house contains eight rooms on two floors, including two bedrooms, a Nursery, Bathroom, Living, Dining, Music Room and Kitchen. There are 18 windows and 3 fireplaces. Dimensions & Mobility: The dollhouse stands approximately 34" high with a 24" x 24" footprint. The house is fitted with smooth-rolling brass castors, allowing you to easily move and rotate the house for display or play. Easy-Access Construction: The four walls lift oA to provide complete 360-degree access. The roof also lifts oA, doubling as a convenient storage space for extra dollhouse furniture, seasonal décor or supplies. Electrical: The house is fully wired and includes delicate miniature ceiling fixtures and lamps. The house also has numerous tiny floor outlets to plug in little lamps. However, vintage wiring is a bit finicky. We are leaving the final repair and fine-tuning of the electrical system to the new owner to restore or retrofit. Exterior Architecture: Features raised resin-cast brick siding, a classic split cedar shake roof, a rooftop cupola, dual brick chimneys, a double stained-plexiglass front door, and a matching single stained-plexiglass back door. Handcrafted Finishes: Dark stained wood floors simulate oak and parquet. Every room includes wallcovering, trim, and a beautiful central stairway. Furnishings: The interior was curated and decorated by a local miniatures artisan with furnishings contributed by members of the Mount Vernon Miniatures Club and donations from the community. Every room features carefully selected furniture, rugs, and decor. Even though the rooms are fully furnished, there is still plenty of room for the new owner to personalize it and make it their own. Artwork: The house is loaded with reproduction artwork, including some fun little “Easter Eggs”. Kitchen: The kitchen features a vintage cast iron stove complete with beautiful hand hammered copper stove hood imported from Germany. Landscaping & Exterior Details: The house includes removable front steps decorated with miniature greenery, as well as a set of back steps and a detailed basement hatch.
Exterior: The exterior structure, brick siding, chimneys, stained-glass doors, and roof are in excellent condition. While structurally sound and well preserved, the dollhouse could use a fresh coat of paint and some general touch-up on the windows, trim and exterior accents. Windows: All 18 plexiglass windows are fully intact but show some age-related staining and small scratches. Because of the dollhouse's modular construction, these can be easily replaced. Interior Wallpaper: Some of the original vintage wallpaper exhibits staining or spotting consistent with age but remains intact. Pickup Information Shipping: Because of the size, weight, furnishings, and delicate details, local pickup is strongly preferred, however winning bidder may arrange for their own shipping if desired. Buyer must arrange to have the dollhouse and furnishings properly packed for shipment or transport. We are unable to provide shipping for this item, but we are happy to assist with coordination as needed. We need at least 48 hours advanced notice for pick-up. Location: Pick up from the Historic Sydenstricker Schoolhouse located at 8511 Hooes Road, Springfield, VA 22153 (oA the Fairfax County Parkway).
